Characterisation of human and non-human escherichia coli ecotypes (106 blz)
The results of isolation of E. coli from the different faecal matters and domestic wastewater treatment plant influent reveals that faecal samples had higher percentages of positivity for E.coli (>90%) than the domestic ww treatment plant influent (67%). The percentage positivity for bêta-glucuronidase reaction for E.coli was found more frequent at 37°C than 44.5°C. this percentage positivity difference with regard to temperature was more pronounced in the domestic wwtp influent
Study also looks for fatty acid biomarkers that can be used as practical tool for differentiation and tracing the origin of faecal pollution in all sources.
